The size of your character is important and can affect your Aptitudes. You choose a Size Category at Character Creation, but various effects can allow you to change your Size Category.
Each Size Category gives certain benefits and penalties, which are listed on the Size Table below:
Size | Melee Range | Speed Modifier | Defense Value | Soak Modifier | Squares Occupied |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Nano (Example) | Adjacent | -6 | +3(T) | -3(T) | 1 |
Tiny (Example) | Adjacent | -3 | +2(T) | -2(T) | 1 |
Small (Example) | Adjacent | +0 | +1(T) | -1(T) | 1 |
Medium (Example) | Adjacent | +0 | 0(T) | 0(T) | 1 |
Large (Example) | Adjacent | +0 | -1(T) | +1(T) | 1 |

Size penalties can NOT reduce any Aptitude lower than 2.

Fighting at Different Sizes
Engaging Opponents who are at different sizes can dramatically influence combat and change how everyone involved fights. Below are the various effects you benefit from:
Larger Characters
Punching Down [Passive]: Increase the Damage inflicted by your Attacking Maneuvers to characters who are 2+ Size Categories smaller than you by 1d6(T).
Gigantic Grip [Passive]: For each Size Category you are larger than an Opponent you are currently Grappling, increase your Grapple Checks to maintain a Grapple by 1(T), to a maximum of 3(T).
Giant Strike: The bigger you are, the more people you can hit at once.
-[Passive]: For every Size Category after Large, increase the distance until an Opponent is at Long Range and the Magnitude of any AoE Attacking Maneuvers you have by 1.
-[Passive]: If your Size Category is Gigantic, all of your Attacking Maneuvers that would usually target a single Character gain a Minor Sphere AoE unless you are targeting another Character who is of the Gigantic Size Category.
Smaller Characters
Punching Up [1/Round]: You can turn an Attacking Maneuver made against an Opponent who is 2+ Size Categories larger than you into a Called Shot without paying an additional Action.
Tiny Target [Triggered]: When you use the Rapid Movement Maneuver, if you were in the Melee Range of an Opponent that is 2+ Size Categories larger than you, make a Skill Clash (Acrobatics/Stealth vs Perception). If you win, that Opponent gains the Oblivious Combat Condition until the start of your next turn.
