Story of the Dark King
The first Character to possess the Dark Factor within your setting is known as the ‘Origin of the Dark Factor’. Only one Character in a setting may possess the Dark Factor Super Awakening at any one time. If a Character dies with the Dark Factor, they lose this Super Awakening, unless they are the Origin of the Dark Factor.
If the Origin of the Dark Factor dies, they do not enter the afterlife, but instead exist as part of the Super Awakening. If another Character gains the Super Awakening for any reason, they must win a Might Clash against the Origin of the Dark Factor while not benefiting from the bonuses or effects of any Forms or Enhancements. If they fail, they are taken over and become the Origin of the Dark Factor – their Character does not change, but they are completely controlled by the Origin of the Dark Factor.
Grand Awakening
Resurgence of the Dark King: T
(1)-[Grand Trigger]: You are below the Injured Health Threshold and have spent at least 4 stacks of Dark Lifeforce.
(2)-[Passive]: Increase your Combat Rolls by 1(T).
(3)-[Passive]: Increase your Wound Rolls and Soak Value by 2(T) against characters suffering from a Combat Condition.
(4)-[Triggered/Power, 1/Round]: Gain a stack of Dark Lifeforce.
(5)-[Triggered, 1/Round]: If you use a Signature Technique, you may spend a stack of Dark Lifeforce to apply an Energy Charge to that Attacking Maneuver.
(6)-[Triggered, 1/Round]: If you are targeted by an Attacking Maneuver, you may spend a stack of Dark Lifeforce to use the Defend Maneuver without spending a Counter Action.
(7)-[Triggered, 1/Encounter]: Upon using the Full Awakening Maneuver, gain a stack of Dark Lifeforce.
(8)-[Triggered, 1/Encounter]: If you Defeat an Opponent with a Signature Technique, you may spend 3 stacks of Dark Lifeforce to use the Absorb Maneuver (even if you do not have access to it) as an Out-of-Sequence Maneuver. You must target that Opponent with this use of the Absorb Maneuver, and that Opponent does not have to be within your Melee Range.
(9)-[Triggered/Defeated, 1/Character]: If you are the Origin of the Dark Factor, die. If you do, select another Character on the Battlefield and make a Might Clash against them. If you win, they gain the Demon Clansman Factor (you choose which Secondary Trait is replaced) and the Dark Factor Super Awakening (if they already possessed a Super Awakening, replace it with Dark Factor). That Character then becomes your Character while they possess the Dark Factor Awakening and this Character ceases to exist, except as the Origin of the Dark Factor.
