
Whether caught in the deep dark underground caverns or the pure, blinding bright light of the summer sun, light greatly affects a warrior’s effectiveness in combat.
Light Levels
Whether too bright or too dark, the level of light in an area can drastically influence the outcome of a battle.
Scale. As with Battle Weather, Light Levels can be cast across an entire area or be isolated and limited to a specific zone. Each Square has its Light Level calculated individually, but an ARC may state the entire Battlefield is cast in darkness.
Light Sources. If something is designated a Light Source, it means that it increases (or sets) the Light Level of an area by (or to) a certain value. Each Light Source will present an AoE.
Light Levels. There are 5 Light Levels, ranging from -2 to 2, each with their own effect:
- Pitch Black (-2). Halve your Awareness, Defense Value, and the Skill Bonus from any Skills that use your Insight Modifier.
- Dark (-1). Reduce your Awareness and Defense Value by 2(bT) and reduce the Skill Bonus for any Skills that use your Insight Modifier by 2.
- Normal (0). No effect.
- Bright (1). Reduce your Awareness and Defense Value by 2(bT) and reduce the Skill Bonus for any Skills that use your Insight Modifier by 2.
- Blinding (2). Halve your Awareness, Defense Value, and the Skill Bonus from any Skills that use your Insight Modifier.
