
Fission is the act of splitting oneself, predominantly into a ‘good’ half and an ‘evil’ half, creating two pure individuals.
Undergoing Fission. If you have 2+ Skill Ranks in Use Magic and your Alignment is neither Pure Good nor Pure Evil, you may undergo Fission by spending 2 Karma Points. In a Combat Encounter, doing so is a Standard Maneuver with an Action Cost of 3 Actions. While Adventuring, it costs 2 Short Time Units.
When you split, create two Characters of the same Power Level, Race, and Subrace as you. At Character Creation, these Characters cannot have an Attribute Score in any Attribute that exceeds your Attribute Score for that Attribute, nor can they possess Signature Techniques or Unique Abilities that you did not have access to.
Among these Characters, known as the ‘Split Characters’, one of which will have an Alignment of Pure Good and gain the Paragon Fission Trait and one will have an Alignment of Pure Evil and gain the Renegade Fission Trait.
Select one of the Split Characters. You will retain access to this Split Character, while the ARC will play the other Split Character.
Life-Link. When undergoing Fission, the Split Characters gain a Life-Link. If one were to die, then the other Character would die as well. If you have 4+ Skill Ranks in Use Magic, you may undergo Fission without creating a Life-Link.
Fission and Reincarnation. If a Split Character without a Life-Link dies, they may be purified and become a new being. If a Character with the Reincarnated Factor has a Split Character as their Past-Life, they may be targeted by or target the other Past Life with the Unification Maneuver regardless of their Race.
Re-Combining. If Split Characters become one again through Unification, they lose their Fission Trait and gain the Reborn Potential Greater Awakening.
Fission Traits
Paragon: You are the epitome of kindness, compassion, and virtue.
(1)-[Passive]: Reduce your Tier of Power by 1. If your base Tier of Power is 1, instead reduce your Combat Rolls by 2.
(2)-[Passive]: Increase your Soak Value by 2(bT).
(3)-[Triggered, 1/Round]: If you or an Ally receive Damage from your Opponent’s Attacking Maneuver, you may reduce that Damage by 1/2 of your Might.
Renegade: Inheriting all of the darkness of your originator, you are the face of destruction and terror.
(1)-[Passive]: Reduce your Tier of Power by 1. If your base Tier of Power is 1, instead reduce your Combat Rolls by 2.
(2)-[Passive]: Increase your Wound Rolls by 2(bT).
(3)-[Triggered, 1/Round]: If an Opponent receives Damage from you or one of your Ally’s Attacking Maneuvers, you may increase the amount of Damage they receive by 1/2 of your Might.
