The metallic hum of a blade’s vibration as it glances off another weapon, the squelch of mud and viscera under your boots as you make your way into a favorable position against the enemy… These are but a fraction of the chaos that hides behind the glorified tales of war; a chaos you know all too well. Even against overwhelming odds, you stick to your position on the field, knowing that if you leave, you leave your comrades to die. Still, you’ve managed to make it this far, together, and you know that, as long as everyone plays their part, things will work out. You’ve got this, and you know it. Now, it’s time to show the enemy what you’re made of.

Tension at its Peak: In the heat of battle, when the stakes are high and the chips are down, you know how turn a bad situation to your advantage.
(1)-[Permanent]: You cannot enter this Transformation unless you have 5+ Tension.
(2)-[Automatic]: If you have no stacks of Tension, immediately leave this Transformation.
(3)-[Constant/Start of Turn]: If you possess 4+ Tension, you may use the Transformation Maneuver as an Out-of-Sequence Maneuver to enter Super High Tension.
(4)-[Triggered/Transform, Triggered/Start of Turn, Resource]: Gain a stack of Super Tension (max. 2).
(5)-[Passive]: You may spend stacks of Super Tension as if they were stacks of Tension for your effects.
(6)-[Passive]: While you possess 5+ stacks of Tension, apply your Tier of Power Extra Dice an additional time.
(7)-[Triggered, 1/Round]: If you spend a stack of Super Tension, either:
- Apply an Energy Charge to your next Attacking Maneuver made during this Combat Round.
- Regain Ki Points equal to your Surgency.
Facing Adversity: Combat is all about challenges, and you are no stranger to being challenged. You don’t back down, even in the face of a superior foe.
(1)-[Passive]: For each Health Threshold you are below, increase your Strike and Wound Rolls by 1(T).
(2)-[Passive]: While you are below the Injured Health Threshold, increase your Defense Value and Damage Reduction by 1(T).
(3)-[Passive]: While you are below the Injured Health Threshold, ignore the effects of all Combat Conditions (except Prone, Pinned, Suffocating, or Transfigured).
(4)-[Passive]: While you are in the Entrusted State, increase the Dice Category of your Energy Charges by 1 Category.
(5)-[Passive]: While you are in the Entrusted State, increase the Damage Category of all of your Attacking Maneuvers by 1 Category.
(6)-[Triggered/Threshold]: Use the Basic Attack Maneuver as an Out-of-Sequence Maneuver. If you do, you may spend up to 2 stacks of Tension to apply an equal number of Energy Charges to that Attacking Maneuver. You do not lose these stacks of Tension until this Maneuver is concluded.
(7)-[Triggered/Power, 1/Encounter]: Spend 2 stacks of Tension to enter the Entrusted State until the end of your turn.
Mastery Traits
Tension Control (1): You turn the tides of battle almost instinctively now, capitalizing on the chaos of the battlefield like a fish swims through water.
(1)-[Permanent]: Super High Tension loses M levels of the Draining Aspect.
(2)-[Permanent]: Reduce the amount of Tension required for the 1st and 3rd effects of Tension at its Peak by M.
(3)-[Triggered/Power, 1/Encounter]: Gain M stacks of Tension. The maximum number of Tension stacks you can gain from this effect is equal to the number of Health Thresholds you are below.
Thrive in Adversity (2): You’ve reached the point where you don’t just survive battles- they make you feel alive.
(1)-[Permanent]: Super High Tension loses the Exhausting Aspect.
(2)-[Passive]: The 2nd and 3rd effects of Facing Adversity apply while you are below the Bruised Health Threshold, instead of the Injured Health Threshold.
(3)-[Passive]: Double the bonus from the 2nd effect of Facing Adversity while you are below the Injured Health Threshold.
(4)-[Triggered, 1/Encounter]: If you are targeted by an Attacking Maneuver, you may spend 2 stacks of Tension to use the Guard option of the Defend Maneuver without paying the Action Cost or Ki Point Cost.
