Shinjin are divine, magical individuals also known as Core People. They are born from apple-shaped fruits that grow on the gigantic magical tree known as Kaiju Tree. There are two types of Shinjin: the Kaio and Makaio. While Kaio are considered good and noble individuals, the Makaio are considered evil and dishonorable. Kaios are the celestial caretakers of the universe, and they are extremely devoted to this cause. All life is sacred, and the balance of the cosmos is of the utmost importance. Kaios are heroes, guardians, representatives of the otherworldly, and furious protectors of the life. Makaios are the fiends of the Demon Realm, and they are dedicated to the corruption of the universes. Nothing is sacred, and the cosmos exist only for them to feed from. Makaios are tricksters, schemers, envoys of exploitation, and the corrupted pursuers of dark energy.

Shinjin Lore
Personality
Shinjin (also referred to as Core People) are a very dignified and intelligent- but innocent- species, born pure of heart and without a true understanding of the universe that they may one day be tasked with protecting. Shinjin born with no evil in their hearts are called “Kaio” Shinjin, and seek to protect the laws and balance of the universe, as well as create new life. Despite this, however, they are not immune to corruption, and indeed can, in fact, become evil. When Shinjin arise that are born with malice in their hearts, they are outcast as Makaio.
Makaio Shinjin are just as enigmatic and intelligent as their Kaio siblings, but far more malevolent. Makaio Shinjin create schemes and plots to gain power or sow chaos throughout the universe. Using dark energies and magical power over knowledge and wisdom, the Makaio are inherently the opposite of the lawful Kaio, but this doesn’t mean they can’t change.
Even a Makaio can become a good and decent individual, maybe even a hero.
Physical Description
The Shinjin have a humanoid appearance with pointed ears, distinctive attire, and a broad range of skin tones; from fair-skinned to unusual colors like green, red or purple. They come in various heights, wildly different body types, and separate themselves by modifying their attire or wearing different hair styles. Strangely, in spite of being born from a magical plant, Shinjin have both male and female appearances for their race.
Society
The Shinjin live leisurely lives, studying various things at a castle-like school. The average Shinjin’s lifespan is roughly 75,000 years, however, those born from the mysterious golden fruits can live for several millions of years. Their society relies on a rigid hierarchical structure.
The Hierarchy of the Kai is as follows:
The 4 Directional Kai (North, East, South, West): Each oversees the corresponding segment of the universe and acts as a sentry who reports to the Grand Kai.
The Grand Kai: A Kai who oversees the Directional Kai and reports directly to the Supreme Kai.
The 4 Directional Supreme Kai: Also known as Kaioshin, they take care of individual segments of the universe, creating new life and planets. They report directly to the Grand Supreme Kai, and only those born from the Golden Fruit are said to be able to take this position.
The Grand Supreme Kai: The leader of all Kaioshin, he oversees the entire universe and works with the God of Destruction to maintain balance. His life is tied to the life of the God of Destruction.
Shinjin who become Kais can be promoted to the rank of Supreme Kai through various means; notably the Kaio Chronoa was promoted to the rank of Supreme Kai of Time after raising the magical bird Tokitoki, and the Directional Kai Zamasu was promoted to become assistant to the Supreme Kai Gowasu.
Home World
The Shinjin home is a planet named Kaishin (also called the Core World), which holds a population of roughly 80 Shinjin at one time. On Kaishin, there are gigantic trees called the Kaiju. These trees sprout Shinjin from magical fruits. These Shinjin can possibly take the role of a Kai if incredibly lucky or if born from special golden fruit, in which case they then become Supreme Kai (if there is an opening). The evil Shinjin born on Kaishin are cast into the Demon Realm located at the very tip of the universe, which is ruled by Demon Realm Supreme Kai (also known as the Makaioshin), to be kept separate from civilization, and they live with the King of the Demon Realm.
Lore
The history of the Shinjin is the history of creation itself and the eighteen universes. Before any universes existed, there was the Null Space, a plane of existence devoid of anything. It is here in this space that eighteen universes were created, with thirteen of these universes being twins, identical in several ways yet different in others. The Omni-King Zeno has ruled over these universes since time immemorial. It is unknown if Zeno created the universes himself, or if Omni-King is simply a title and Zeno is the current entity filling the title. Either way, Zeno sits atop the hierarchy of divine beings and has the power to shape, create, or destroy anything and everything in the several universes. He once displayed this power by destroying six of the universes at once when he became offended.
At some point in the early eons during the creation of the universes, it was decided that an entity was needed to help curb the flourishing life inside the universes. Thus, the amoral and indifferent Majin Buu was created. Majin Buu was created with the leftover material used to form the eighteen universes. The Majin served as a “prototype” God of Destruction, cycling between rampages and long hibernations. At some point during his many rampages however, Majin Buu became corrupted by the evils of the universes he operated in. As Majin Buu became an aimless force of destruction, his rampages began to no longer serve their intended purpose and caused more harm than good. Majin Buu was then sealed away by some sort of divine interference inside Universe 7, though it is unknown who sealed him away, and Majin Buu was replaced with the God of Destruction, or Hakaioshin, and the hierarchy of the Shinjin was created to watch over and keep balance in the universes. However, some sources suggest the Majin simply formed from out of the leftover material and rampaged across the cosmos until captured and sealed away. Either way, Majin Buu was the single most powerful individual to exist, in Universe 7 at least, next to the God of Destruction himself.
It was at this time that the unstable material used to create the universes was sealed in a space outside of time; this realm would later become the Demon Realm, later renamed the Dark Empire after the Makaio Mechikabura came to power. A Shinjin, Mechikabura was unknowingly the first born Makaio. He was initially a candidate for the position of Supreme Kai of Time, alongside another Kai named Chronoa. Mechikabura failed the test for the position by trying to cut corners using his dark magic and instead of raising the time bird Tokitoki, he raised a mutated copy named Dogidogi. Due to his mischief and attempts to undermine others, Mechikabura was sent to the Demon Realm where he became the Dark King and ruled over the Dark Empire. Mechikabura attempted to use his armies and dark energy to corrupt and control the multiverse through the alternate timelines and universes within them, but ultimately failed. Demigra, another Makaio, was also sent to the Demon Realm sometime after Mechikabura for attempting to use Tokitoki, the magical bird of time, to control time and create his perfect timeline.
Roughly five million years before the current age of Universe 7, an evil wizard named Bibidi used powerful magic to reawaken and control Majin Buu, and proceeded to attack the Sacred World of the Kais. Majin Buu attacked and either killed or absorbed all the Supreme Kais living there, leaving only a single Supreme Kai, aptly named Shin, alive. Shin would later kill Bibidi and hide the hibernating Majin Buu on Planet Earth. It was this decision that led Babidi, the son (and clone) of the evil wizard Bibidi, to attack Earth five million years later and release Majin Buu, yet again, onto Universe 7. During this event, Majin Buu split into two different life-forms, creating Good Majin Buu, who would later go on to create the Majin race. Thankfully, the heroes of the universe prevailed, defeating and destroying the evil half of Majin Buu then known as Kid Buu.
With the Shinjin race nearly wiped out by Majin Buu, the Supreme Kai Shin (now alone serving in place of all other Supreme Kais and the Grand Supreme Kai) along with the Supreme Kai of Time Chronoa, and other candidates for the Supreme Kai position, used their celestial magics to enhance the Kaiju Tree’s fruit growth. Many Shinjin were born and the Sacred World of the Kais once again became populated. Now, with a new generation of Shinjin led by Shin, the Kaio aim to refill the open positions in the universe’s divine hierarchy.
In the meantime a new Dark King known as Fu, the grandchild of Mechikabura with the genetic data of all the known races in the universe, rose to power in the Demon Realm and began work on his own Dark Empire. At the same time, the Makaio Demigra split off from the Dark Empire and began working on his own. Soon, the Demon Realm was teeming with new recruits for both sides and plenty of chaos-loving demons were ready to wreak havoc on the world- no, the universe.
